PM: Govt launched auto industry development strategy

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said on Tuesday 5/4/2022 that the government has recently launched a strategy to develop the automotive industry, particularly the manufacturing of electric vehicles.

During a meeting with a delegation of Japan’s YAZAKI Europe Limited in the presence of CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Mohamed Abdel Wahab and Japanese Ambassador in Cairo Oka Hiroshi, the premier welcomed a plan by the Japanese automotive giant to set up a factory in Egypt.

The government is keen to provide all possible support for the Japanese giant to construct this factory as soon as possible, the premier noted.

For his part, Chairman of Yazaki Europe Limited Munenori Yamada said his company’s delegation is made up of executive directors, which reflects a strong desire to invest in Egypt.
