RAMALLAH: Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh discussed today with the Norwegian envoy to the Middle East peace process, Hilde Haraldstad, the developments of the Israeli occupation war on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

During a meeting in Ramallah, Shtayyeh and Haraldstad also tackled the unjust and illegal Israeli deductions from Palestinian clearing funds.

The Prime Minister said that the priority is to stop the aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, deliver aid, prevent the displacement of Palestinians there and occupation of parts of its land, open all crossings, restore electricity and water, and stop all violations and attacks by the occupation army and colonists against the Palestinian people in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

Shtayyeh also called on Norway and the international community to put pressure on Israel to release the withheld Palestinian funds, stop all illegal deductions from the clearance funds, and stop the Israeli decision to deduct the
funds allocated to the Gaza Strip from the clearance funds.

He stressed that this is a political decision meant to perpetuate attempts to separate the West Bank from the Gaza Strip, calling on the donor countries to provide financial support to Palestine to confront the crisis facing it and its inability to fulfill its obligations.

The Prime Minister affirmed that there must first be an and to the aggression against the Palestinian people and working to create a political horizon and path to end the occupation of all Palestinian land, including Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem.
