Police arrest 15 drug dealers in nationwide campaign

The Anti-Narcotics Department arrested has arrested 15 drug trafficking suspects across Jordan over the past 48 hours, said a security source on Sunday.

Two drug traffickers were caught in Mafraq with 15,000 pills and seven palm-sized blocks of hashish, according to a spokesman for the Public Security Department. Two more dealers were arrested and had 5,000 pills taken from their home.

The police arrested a trafficker and seized 10,000 narcotic pills and a firearm during a raid on his home in the central Balqa governorate, the spokesman said.

In the capital Amman, five dealers were arrested, and police seized a total of 5,500 narcotic pills, 33 hashish blocks, a firearm, and quantities of crystal meth.

A security campaign was launched in Aqaba, added the spokesman, arresting 5 traffickers with quantities of drugs and firearms.
