President’s adviser: Egypt spent about $400 million to purchase coronavirus vaccines

Presidential adviser for health affairs Mohamed Awad Tag el-Din said Friday 22/10/2021 Egypt has spent about $400 million so far to purchase coronavirus vaccines from multiple sources, despite the global scarcity of vaccines.

The state has carried out a “great political epic” to provide the vaccines under the supervision of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, he added in a televised interview.

Egypt is passing an upward wave for the fourth wave of the coronavirus, Tag el-Din said.

He urged the Egyptians to get vaccines to prevent severe complications of Covid-19.
