Damascus, SANA- Special Representative of President of the Russian Federation, the Russian Ambassador in Damascus, Alexander Efimov, said that results of the presidential election fully affirmed President Bashar al-Assad’s high reputation and the Syrians’ confidence in his leadership, stressing Moscow’s firm stance in support of Syria and its assistance to break the blockade and rebuild the country.
The Ambassador, in an exclusive interview with SANA on the occasion of Russia National Day, congratulated the Syrian people for successfully fulfilling the presidential election in light of the current extremely difficult circumstances.
“I stress Russian President’s speech that the results of the election fully reflected the high reputation of President Bashar al-Assad and the confidence of Syrian citizens in the process under his leadership aimed at stabilizing the situation in the country,” the Ambassador said.
He added that the presidential election in Syria has been run completely in accordance with the rules of the Syrian constitution and national legislations.
Ambassador Efimov stressed that his country will follow its firm approach in support of Syria and help rebuild the country.
