Sabbagh meets Nikzad: Syrian-Iranian relations strategic

People’s Assembly Speaker, Hammouda Sabbagh, described as “ deeply-rooted and strong” the relations between Syria and Iran, hailing the development in the special parliamentary relations between the two countries.

Sabbagh who met Vice-President of the Iranian Shura Council, Ali Nikzad and an accompanying delegation, highly appreciated Iran’s principled and firm stances toward regional issues and its limitless support for Syria in its war on terror.

He stressed that Syria, Iran and countries of the axis of resistance stand united in the face of the Israeli entity and the Western powers that support it, particularly the US which tries to pressure the peoples and undermine their unity and their independent decision.

Sabbagh called for enhancing economic relations between the two friendly countries to keep pace with important political relations.

For his part, Nikzad affirmed that Syria, under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad, will remain head of the resistance axis.

Nikzad added that the US and its Western agents imposed sanctions on Syria and Iran after their failure in the fierce and hard military war against them, stressing that his country would continue to support Syria in all fields.
