Lower House Speaker, Ahmed Safadi, said King’s Speech from the Throne included sharp insights and a clear road map for future days.Safadi added that the speech instructed all authorities to assume responsibility to cooperate, in a bid to meet Jordanian people’s aspirations, affirming it will be compass to House’s work to achieve national goals.Additionally, he affirmed the House and government will cooperate to achieve comprehensive modernization visions and the requirements of its paths.Safadi’s remarks came in his speech, chairing the House session following his election as House speaker Wednesday, in the presence of the Prime Minister, Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, and the government members.Safadi referred to King’s focus on the nation’s central issue, Palestine, which tops His Majesty’s priorities, who warned constantly, in all his speeches, of the consequences of the absence of a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause, according to the two-state solution that guarantees Palestinian rights.S
afadi noted continuation of Israeli occupation practices in the Palestinian territories will keep the region in a state of tension, which would reflect on the entire world.Current developments in the Gaza Strip reflect extremism of the occupation government, which is still practicing the same policy, which requires the international community and its decision-making centers to listen to the voice of wisdom, represented by His Majesty, to stop the brutal war machine in the Gaza Strip, he pointed out.Safadi also said there is no peace or stability in the region without a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue, adding that Jordan will remain a supporter of Palestine.Jordan, he noted, will not allow any solution that comes at the Kingdom’s expense and will remain firm support to Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites.
