SAMIR AL-DAHER CALLED ON THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO STAND IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE PEOPLE OF LEBANON: TO IMPLEMENT THE SYSTEM OF NEUTRALITY AND NOT TO BE BULLIED ABROAD

The President of the United Nations Lebanon Organization and the President of the International Federation for Peace and Human Rights, Professor Samir Daher, said in a statement, “The visit of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, to Lebanon, comes in response to the appeal of the United Nations Lebanon Organization at the most difficult stage in which fragmentation and division suffer, in light of Very difficult economic and social conditions.

Daher added: “Lebanon today is in dire need of the international community’s concerted efforts in solidarity with its people who suffer from multiple humanitarian crises, especially the loss of the most basic rights in education, health and social care. The main reason is the failure of politicians to manage the country’s affairs and the accumulation of mistakes as a result of their inability to absorb social and national changes. The interior, especially the Lebanese groups’ demand for their social rights, this situation led to the exposure of the Lebanese arena and its involvement in regional and international conflicts, Lebanon is far from it.”

Daher called for “the implementation of the Lebanese neutrality system, which stipulates that there is no legitimacy for any authority that contradicts the coexistence pact. On this basis, the choice of neutrality is based on the abstention of any internal party from bullying abroad in order to use its capabilities to its advantage at the expense of the internal formula and coexistence.”

He continued, “The course has turned on everyone, and Lebanon has reap nothing but scourge and destruction from the barter between part of the sovereignty for the benefit of the outside in return for internal gains. We also demand the Secretary-General that the issue of Lebanon be a priority in international files and the preservation of marine and oil resources and wealth in the face of the greedy. There are obstacles in the matter of demarcating the borders between Lebanon and “Israel”, which must be resolved quickly so that Lebanon can invest in this field and get out of this crisis that has befallen it.”

Al-Daher concluded: “Lebanon, which has great merit over the United Nations, is one of the dominant contributors to its effective development through the missions participating in the successive work of the United Nations, especially the distinguished role of Ambassador Dr. Charles Malek, who participated in the committee charged with drafting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948, which is considered the document greatest in our contemporary world.
