Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is closely following the international repercussions regarding employees of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), said the Saudi foreign ministry in a statement.

The Kingdom stressed the importance of strengthening review and investigation procedures into these allegations, to come up with facts coupled with evidence.

It said that such measures are crucial in light of the humanitarian sacrifices made by UNRWA workers, which led to the killing of many and the injury of others as a result of the indiscriminate Israeli bombing of relief homes in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings.

The statement urged all supporters of UNRWA to carry out their role in supporting humanitarian missions for Palestinian refugees inside the besieged Gaza Strip.

The Saudi foreign ministry stressed the importance of allowing the agency to continue fulfilling its duties to ensure the provision of basic requirements for the Palestinians and to mitigate the effec
ts of the humanitarian crisis taking place in occupied Palestine.

It also renewed its deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in the besieged Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli occupation forces’ flagrant violations of international law and international humanitarian law.
