AL AIN, Silal, Abu Dhabi’s leading food, agriculture, and technology company, has announced that its state-of-the-art automated packhouse in Al Ain will deliver up to 216 tonnes of fresh produce daily and will be the largest of its kind in the UAE.

Covering an area spanning 14,000 square metres, Silal’s automated packhouse includes a 4,930 square metre grading and packing area, strengthening Silal’s role in supporting the local farming industry.

In line with Silal’s commitment to sustainability, the packhouse incorporates the latest innovative and advanced technology in post-harvest operations.

The facility encompasses an automated system for packing locally grown produce in less than 60 seconds. The automation process calculates the weight, dimension, and condition of fruits and vegetables and adjusts packing to ensure flawless results.

The packhouse is expected to handle 65 percent of Silal’s future crops.
