Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Osama Rabie said the canal’s revenues reached about seven billion dollars during Fiscal Year 2021/2022, the highest annual financial revenues ever against 5.8 billion dollars in the previous FY, recording an increase of 1.2 billion dollars with a 20.7 percent rise.

Rabie added in a statement on Monday that the navigation path of the Suez Canal received 22,032 ships during this fiscal year, compared to 19,047 ships last year, recording an increase of 15.7 percent.

The tonnage was 1.19 billion tons, and this year hit 1.32 billion tons, recording an increase of 10.9 percent, he said.
