SHARJAH, 9th October, 2023 (WAM) H.H Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated on Monday the third edition of the Ithraa career fair which is organised by the Emirates Institute of Finance (EIF) in partnership with the Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR), the Nafis Programme and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed was welcomed by Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emirates Institute of Finance (EIF), Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Omar Khalfan bin Huraymel Al Shamsi, Head of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR), Mohammed Abdul Allah, CEO of Sharjah Islamic Bank, and a number of senior officials.Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed placed the exhibition’s logo on the commemorative plaque to signify its official inauguration which aims to offer career opportunities for male and f
emale citizens and young people in the financial sector, increase their experience in the labour market, and raise Emiratisation in this vital sector for the country’s future economy.The Deputy Ruler of Sharjah toured the corridors of the exhibition, listening to a detailed explanation from the various entities participating in the exhibition, and he was acquainted with the job and training opportunities provided by the entities to young high school graduates and holders of bachelor’s degrees in the financial and banking sectors, business administration, economics and information technology.Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed was informed by a number of participating entities about the various jobs they offer in the financial, banking, insurance, and business management sectors with their various specialisations in the public and private sectors, in addition to the various opportunities they provide, including scientific support and training programmes.The Ithraa career fair aims to support the localisation of the financ
ial sector by providing 5,000 jobs by 2026, enhancing employment opportunities for citizens, involving them in strengthening the paths of shaping the future in these vital sectors of the economy, enhancing the status of youth and investing in their practical energies, as they are the key element in sustainable development. More than 60 entities and institutions from several banks, entities and financial institutions in the country are participating in the exhibition. The exhibition also aims in its current edition to provide more than 800 jobs in the last quarter of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024.Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi witnessed the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR), and Emirates Institute of Finance (EIF). The memorandum was signed by Omar Khalfan bin Huraimel Al Shamsi, Head of SDHR, and Noura Al Balushi, Director General of the Institute.The memorandum stipulates the strengthening of joint cooperation between the two parties in de
veloping and refining the skills of Emirati cadres at the level of the public and private sectors in general, and in the financial field in particular, by qualifying UAE citizens to become financial leaders in the future to occupy administrative leadership positions in the financial sector, and to be strategic partners in key business decisions in the Emirate of Sharjah.In accordance with the agreement, the Emirates Institute of Finance will offer training courses and help Emirati nationals who have been recommended by SDHR in the financial sector to advance their skills and talents. The SDHR will assist persons looking to enter the financial industry with the administrative processes, assess them, and then collaborate with the institute to provide them with specific training.
