Syria, Oman hold talks on enhancing joint investment

Muscat, SANA- Dr. Idris Maya, Syrian Ambassador to Oman, discussed Monday with Abdulsalam Al Murshidi, President of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), means of boosting the investment between the two countries.

Al Murshidi, during the meeting, discussed the promising investment opportunities available within diverse sectors to promote relations with Syria in this regard, expressing strong interest to stimulate investments in specific sectors in the coming period, such as the food processing and pharmaceutical industries.

From his side, Ambassador Maya, briefed Al Murshidi on the investment situation in Syria, pointing out to the facilities and privileges provided by the Syrian government in accordance to Investment Law No.18 of 2021.

He also referred to the considerable potential in various economic sectors which can be applied to serve the interest of both countries, asserting the Syrian government’s keenness to cement collaborative relationships with Oman in all domains, especially the investment one.
