Syrian children participate in summer camp hosted by Belarus

Minsk- At the invitation of Belarusian Ministry of Education, the Syrian children participating in (Zobrunk Health Recreation Camp), which is hosted by Belarus and lasts for two weeks, arrived on Tuesday night at the Belarusian capital city of Minsk.

 

The total number of the participants has reached up to 73 of the outstanding students in the exams of the basic education certificate at the schools of Syrian Arab Republic, as well the outstanding students in the exams of the basic education certificate of the martyrs’ sons and daughters, in addition to 7 supervisors.

 

Upon the arrival of the participants, Director of the Belarusian Center for Child Care Center (Zobrunk Camp) welcomed the delegation of the Syrian children and their accompanying supervisors, expressing happiness that children from the friendly country of Syria are able to participate in the camp for this year, as that was not possible last year due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

 

She wished that they would enjoy a pleasant residence, benefit from the summer camp and learn more about the history and culture of Belarus through the activities and cultural tours on the agenda of the camp’s program.

 

In turn, Syrian Ambassador to Belarus, Mohammad al-Omrani welcomed the arrival of Syrian children and their participation in the camp this year, expressing Syria’s appreciation for the humanitarian initiative of the Belarusian leadership that has been going on for five years, which included hundreds of Syrian children from different groups, in a way that reflects the depth of friendship relations and the desire of enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two sides.
