Syrian-Omani talks to enhance media cooperation

Muscat, SANA-Syria’s Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Idris Mayya, discussed on Sunday with the Omani Information Minister, Dr. Abdullah al Harrasi , means of enhancing bilateral media cooperation.

Ambassador Mayya recalled the fierce propaganda against Syria by hundreds of television stations, newspapers, as well as social media networks, noting the great efforts exerted by the Syrian media outlets to confront this war and refute its claims and fabrications.

He also noted the constructive role played by many brotherly and friendly media outlets, foremost of which is the Omani, which adopted an objective and transparent attitude, and which shed light on the crimes committed by the armed terrorist organizations their sponsors.

Ambassador Mayya reviewed the latest developments in Syria and the difficult economic situation in it, resulting from the repercussions of the terrorist war and the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed by US and Western countries, affecting various sectors, in addition to Washington’s theft of Syrian resources such as oil, gas, wheat, cotton and others, which aggravated the difficult economic conditions.

In his turn, Dr. Al-Harrasi reiterated his country’s supportive stances towards Syria, pointing out that his country realized from the beginning that the real goals of this war were to destroy the Syrian civilization and all that it had achieved during the past years in all fields.

Al-Harrasi expressed his country’s readiness to enhance cooperation and coordination between the Omani and Syrian media outlets, in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
