Syrian-Russian talks to boost media cooperation

Assistant Minister of Information, Ahmad Dawa, discussed with Director of the Foreign Information Department of the Russian Ministry of Information Yekaterina Larina means of enhancing cooperation and exchanging experiences between the two sides.

 

The meeting comes on the sidelines of the Syrian-Russian meeting to follow up on the work of the international conference on the return of refugees.

 

In a statement to reporters, Dawa said that both sides discussed ways to enhance media cooperation in general, and in terms of training media professionals in particular, indicating that cooperation between the Russian and Syrian media exists in the field of covering the terrorist war on Syria, clarifying facts and refuting misleading news.

 

In turn, Larina affirmed the readiness of the Russian side to sign a memorandum of understanding with Syria in the media field and exchange experiences, noting that during the meeting, the problems facing the media were discussed, particularly in confronting false and misleading news.
