Damascus, Syrians abroad head on Thursday to cast their votes in the ballot boxes in the Syrian embassies, missions and consulates in many countries in the world to participate in the presidential elections.
The Syrian embassies, missions and consulates will receive the Syrian citizens willing to participate in the elections and those who were previously recorded their names in the electoral lists within the embassies from 07:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m. according to the local time of the hosting country.
The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry on Wednesday called upon the Syrian citizens abroad to cast a vote in the presidential elections scheduled to be held on Thursday to confirm their free will, national belonging and to contribute to building the renewable Syria whose future will be determined by the Syrians only, asserting that the participation of the Syrians abroad in this national duty constitutes an ingrained confirmation on the commitment to the independence of the national decision and foiling of all attempts which aim to impose custody on the Syrians and pledge their will for the others.
The Syrian embassies in many countries of the world have completed their preparations for holding the presidential elections for Syrians living abroad, which are scheduled on May 20th.
Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammoudah Sabbagh announced during an extraordinary round of the People’s Assembly, that the date of presidential elections will be on May 20, 2021 for Syrians resident abroad, while the elections will be set on May 26th for Syrians resident on the Syrian territory.
