Three US soldiers Friday were killed and one other was injured when two helicopters collided while returning from a training mission in Alaska Thursday evening, according to the Washington Post.

The 11th Airborne Division of the US Army announced in a statement that two soldiers were killed at the scene near Hilly, Alaska, while a third soldier died while being transported to the hospital, and a fourth soldier is being treated.

The US military did not identify the soldiers and said it would not reveal their names until 24 hours after notifying their families.
