ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone call today with His Excellency Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany. They explored cooperation between the UAE and Germany and discussed how to further strengthen ties across various sectors, particularly in the economic and trade areas, to advance their shared vision and mutual interests as part of the bilateral strategic partnership.

Furthermore, His Highness and the German President reviewed key regional and international issues with a focus on initiatives to expedite the delivery of substantial and unimpeded relief to the Gaza Strip and ensure it is done urgently and safely.

The two leaders also discussed UAE efforts to mobilise support for the Amalthea maritime corridor initiative in successfully delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and the importance of enhancing the initiative, which is key to ongoing efforts to increase humanitarian aid flows to Gaza through all available m
eans, including by air, land, and sea.
