Guarantor countries of Astana process have not requested the new meeting on Syria

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan said that the guarantor countries of Astana process “Russia, Iran, Turkey “have not submitted a meeting request to hold the next international meeting on Syria in the Astana formula in the capital city of Kazakhstan, Nur Sultan.

In a response to a question about the date of next meeting in Nur-Sultan, sources from the press service office in the Ministry said that “The guarantor countries have not contacted the Kazakh Foreign Ministry regarding holding talks about Syria yet.”

Previous reports indicated that the new meeting in the Astana formula on Syria could be held in the Kazakh capital in October.
