Kazakhstan : Upcoming round of Astana Talks won’t include final meeting

Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday announced that the upcoming round of the international meeting on Syria with Astana format will not include a general final meeting.

 

“ There is no plan for holding a concluding session during the next round of the meeting in the Kazakh capital city of Nur-Sultan due to the quarantine restrictions”, the Ministry said in a statement posted on its website.

 

It added that the bilateral and tri-partite consultations will be convened for two days in Nur-Sultan and the concluding statement will be published on the official sources.

 

On Tuesday, Spokesman for Kazakh Foreign Ministry, Ipek Smadyarov, announced that the date of the international talks on Syria in the Kazakh capital city is scheduled on December 21st and 22nd .

 

The meetings of Astana Talks kicked off in the early of 2017 as 16 meetings were held until now, one of them was in the Russian city of Sochi , and all of these meetings stressed the consistent adherence to Syria’s sovereignty , independence and territorial integrity along with continuing the war on the terrorist organizations till eliminating them.
