PM attends signing of MoU to set up waste treatment plant in Fayyoum

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding to set up a waste treatment plant in the presence of Acting US Ambassador in Cairo Nicole Champagne.

The deal was inked by Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad, Fayyoum Governor Ahmed el Ansari and Chairman of Energy3 International John Ponchock.

The factory will transform waste into biodiesel and graphene in Fayyoum’s Kom Oshim.

The project represents an opportunity for Egypt to move forward with adopting real sustainable solutions for the treatment of solid waste, the environment minister said.

The project will ensure the safe disposal of waste and is expected to achieve an economic advantage through drawing on the expertise of global firms in this field, she added.
