Cuba affirms desire to strengthen economic cooperation with Syria

Syria and Cuba discussed on Wednesday the economic relations between the two countries and means to bolster them to be up to the level of the political relations.

That came during a meeting between Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, and Syria’s Ambassador in Havana, Dr. Idris Mayya at the headquarters of the Ministry in Havana.

The Cuban Minister expressed his country’s strong desire to enhance economic cooperation with Syria, reviewing the ways to strengthen and develop these relations for the good and interest of the two friendly peoples and countries.

In Turn, Ambassador Mayya renewed Syria’s condemnation of the unjust blockade imposed by the US on Cuba, stressing that the two friendly countries are looking forward to more cooperation and upgrading relations in various fields, especially the economic ones.
