The Federal National Council (FNC) highlighted the key legislative and regulatory role of parliaments in protecting the privacy of users in the digital sphere, as well as the importance of cooperation in the transfer of technologies that support clean energy and artificial intelligence (AI), which are priorities of the UAE.

During her participation in the Third Standing Committee on Dialogue among Civilisations and Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) held in Rabat, Morocco, Sabreen Hassan Al Yamahi, FNC Member, said that the UAE has launched its AI strategy, which is the next phase after the launch of a smart government that will develop services, sectors and the UAE’s future infrastructure.

The UAE’s AI strategy comprises several pillars, which include establishing an AI working group, the AI Council, and working groups with innovative CEOs in government authorities, in addition to holding workshops and initiatives for government authorities on applied AI mechanisms, organising an annual international summit, and launching a government accelerator for AI.
