Health Ministry: 692 confirmed infections, 40 fatalities due to Cholera in Syria

Damascus, SANA- Health Ministry announced Saturday that the total number of confirmed cases of cholera raised to 692 distributed to 435 in Aleppo, 119 in Deir Ezzor, 52 in Hasaka, 28 in Raqqa, 22 in Lattakia, 11 in Sweida, 8 in Damascus, 7 in Hama, 6 in Homs, 3 in Daraa and 1 in Quneitra.

 

The total number of fatalities caused by cholera disease reached 40, among them 34 in Aleppo, 3 in Hasaka, 2 in Deir Ezzor and 1 in Damascus, as a result of the delay in seeking medical advice and the presence of accompanying chronic diseases.

 

The Ministry called on citizens to follow public health measures and behaviors such as washing hands, drinking water from a safe source, and washing fruits and vegetables well.
