London, Arsenal still boast a five-point lead at the top of the English Premier League (EPL) table, thanks to a 97th minute Reiss Nelson winner that saw the Gunners defeat Bournemouth 3-2.

The pressure was on the London side after Manchester City had defeated Newcastle earlier and Arsenal knew they had a difficult task on their hands from the very first minute, when Philip Billing put Bournemouth ahead inside 10 seconds.

From there, Arsenal completely dominated the game, but couldn’t find an equaliser and even had a couple of potential penalties not given.

They trailed 1-0 at the break and the situation became even more bleak when Marcos Senesi doubled the visitors’ lead just before the hour mark by heading in a corner.

From there, though, Arsenal turned it around and produce a thrilling comeback over the final half hour of the game.

They got the comeback up and running when Thomas Partey pulled one back from a corner of their own in the 62nd minute, before substitute Ben White steered a shot over the line in the 70th minute.

Arteta’s side pushed and pushed over the remaining minutes and, just when it looked like they were going to be left with a frustrating draw, Nelson fired in a cool half-volley from a 97th minute corner, the Spanish MARCA newspaper reported.

That sent the fans at the Emirates wild with delight, as Arsenal still have a five-point gap to second-placed Manchester City.
