NMI activates “She for digital future” national initiative to bridge digital gender gap

The National Management Institute (NMI), the executive arm of the Planning and Economic Development Ministry, started to activate the “She for digital future” national initiative to bridge the digital gap between women and men.

The initiative is implemented in cooperation with the UNDP and Cisco company.

According to a press release issued by the ministry, executive director of the institute Sherifa el Sherif asserted the political leadership’s keenness on gender equity through the national strategy to empower Egyptian women.

The initiative aims at enhancing Egyptian women role in digital transformation and digital literacy through training women from various Egyptian universities and public sector.

The first phase of the initiative offered training for 500 women from various ministries and is expected to see 2,000 more being trained by the end of 2021. It also aims to train 5,000 women in 2022 nationwide.
