PM inspects Green Zone in Sharm

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, during a tour of Sharm el Sheikh, inspected preparations done at the Green Zone located in the vicinity of the International Convention Center.

During the tour, Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad pointed out that infrastructure activities and logistic services in the area included water, sanitation, electricity and the internet.

Meanwhile, Fouad asserted keenness of the Egyptian state to expand the participation of the different local and international NGOs in the activities of the COP27.

She said that a number of NGOs will partake in the Egyptian pavilion during the event in addition to opening means to participate in the Green Zone by several activities including a program implemented by the Ministry of Social Solidarity to discuss issues of interest to the civil society.

The Green Zone will include areas for presenting stories of success of the Egyptian state project in the field of standing against climate change and it will include areas for non-commercial activities and fairs related to climate work in addition to areas for cultural activities.

It will also include zones for establishing activities to raise the awareness with the risks of climate change.
