Amman: The Senate’s Palestine Committee, headed by Nayef Qadi, reiterated its position calling on realizing inter- Palestinian reconciliation and unity to face blatant Israeli aggression.

In a statement on Wednesday, the committee referred to its direct follow up on Israel’s killing operations against the Palestinian people in the West Bank, Jerusalem and Gaza, in conjunction with Israel’s army and Jewish settler incursions into cities of Nablus, Jenin and Hawara, which injured many people in the West Bank.

In this regard, the committee noted hundreds of extremist Jewish settlers stormed Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque and carried out provocative activities and Talmudic rituals, under protection of Israeli police.

According to its statement, the committee decried Israel’s measures against the defenseless Palestinians, which would undermine a just settlement to end Arab-Israeli conflict by establishing a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital on June 4, 1967 borders.

Simultaneously, the committee referred to “remarkable” efforts made by Jordan’s diplomacy to achieve a solution that meets Palestinian people’s aspirations and restores their full rights of sovereignty, dignity, and independent will.

The committee also lauded His Majesty King Abdullah II’s positions, the Hashemite custodian over Jerusalem’s holy sites, and his sincere calls to reach a just settlement of the Palestinian cause by returning to the negotiating table, as was the case in the recent Aqaba meeting, which Israel’s government refused to implement its agreement.
