Syria, Russia to enhance parliamentary relations, exchange expertise

People’s Assembly Speaker, Hammoudah Sabbagh, described as “deeply-rooted and strong” the relations between Syria and Russia.

Sabbagh, meeting a Russian parliamentary delegation, headed by member of Russian State Duma council, Dmitri Sablin, said that the relations were boosted through mutual cooperation against terrorism to which Syria was exposed.

He highly appreciated the great role played by Russia alongside Syria in the war against terrorism, hoping the two sides would boost parliamentary visits and exchange expertise.

Sablin, for his part, stressed that bilateral relations are in a continuous progress, including the efforts exerted to establish direct relations between provinces in Russia and Syrian cities.
