Syrian Olympic champion weightlifter, Maan Asaad on Sunday was awarded the athlete accomplished an outstanding achievement award for winning a bronze medal in the weightlifting competition at the Olympic Games held in Tokyo 2020.
Asaad was awarded along with 28 other athletes in the Team Sports Creativity category .
Asaad also won three gold medals in the Arab Champion for Weightlifting which was held in Iraq with a wide participation by Arab teams.
Weightlifter Asaad added the three medals to the Syrian national team in the competitions of over 109kg ,as they came for snatch 185 kg and for Barbell squat jump with 235 kg.
The 11th edition of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award celebrates its winners on Sunday, in the heart of Expo 2020 Dubai, the Dubai Exhibition Centre.
A Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiative, the event is the largest award of its kind, in terms of prize money and categories, and the first dedicated to creativity in sports.
