Egyptian diplomat visits Greater Toronto Area

Egyptian Ambassador to Canada Ahmed Hafez discussed with David Piccini, Ontario’s Minister of Environment and Conservation, on Sunday 30/10/2022 priorities of the Egyptian presidency of COP27 climate change conference to be held in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh next month.

The meeting comes as part of the diplomat’s visit to Greater Toronto Area in Ontario province as part of efforts to keep in contact with the Egyptian community there.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said the diplomat held a meeting with a number of members of the Canadian delegation who will participate in the climate change conference.

The diplomat visited St Mark Coptic Cathedral in Toronto, the biggest Egyptian cathedral abroad.

The meeting underlined the importance of fostering ties between Egyptian expatriates and homeland.

The diplomat visited Virgin Mary Church in Mississauga city and chatted with church priests and members on achievements of Egyptians in Canada.

He also visited Philopateer School that serves Egyptian community in the city.

The diplomat visited the Nile Club in Toronto where he met with leaderships of the Egyptian community.
