Israeli settlers this evening set fire to a residential structure belonging to a Palestinian resident in the al-Baqaa area to the east of the village of Mikhmas, northeast of Jerusalem, according to local sources. Sources said that settlers attacked a residential structure built from tin and wood that shelters the Mleihat family. According to sources. settlers took advantage of the owner’s absence and set fire to the structure. Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. Settler violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
